Clubs History

The Inaugural Meeting was held on Tuesday 9th January in 1968, with the Charter being presented at the King's Head hotel, Newport  on 22nd March 1968.  The Club was sponsored by Ebbw Vale.

1970 - 1971 Howard Avon Presentation of Reference books to Brynmawr Comprehensive School. Sponsorship of Essay Competition in local schools, held in conjunction with Conservation Year. Presentation of pen to Timothy Lambert in recognition of his success in winning a scholarship to Jesus College, Cambridge.  Hosts to GSE team from USA.

2003 - 2004 Ken Jones Awarding of  four Paul Harris Fellowships
2004 - 2005 Roger Steer     Rotary celebrates 100 years. Club presented town boundary   marker .

 Awarding of two Paul Harris Fellowships.  First Charity Horse and Dog Show.

2005 -2006 Haydn Jeffreys His second term in office.
2006 - 2007 Denise Ringdahl Start of new marketing strategy.
